A Day at Paws and Claws

Our kennel has indoor/outdoor runs that are open from 7:30am-8:30pm

We have 2 play yards where the pups can run and be wild or simply roam and sniff the perimeter! The great thing about having the conjoining yards is that the pups will run with each other back and forth along the fence getting all of their energy out!

If your pup is allowed to play with others, it is not a guarantee that they will, but if our staff feels comfortable and we have another pup who share’s the same energy level, then we will definitely introduce them. The dirtier they get the more fun they have!

They go out 5 times a day with our staff which includes our “bedtime” let out at 8pm

The inside is heated and air conditioned so everyone is comfortable

Overflow Kennels

Due to our kennel being at full capacity frequently and having to turn away pups, we’ve put (3) 4ftx6ft kennels and (1) 5ftx5ft kennel in our garage. If available, your pups will still get the same level of love and care as everyone else, just without having an outdoor run

Some of our clients choose this option instead of a normal run because it is much quieter for our older or more stressed pups

Pup must be well behaved on a leash to have this option due to having to leash walk them to the play yard, and they must have a secure collar or harness for safety reasons

The garage is heated and air conditioned. The garage doors can be left open during the day if the weather is nice

Grooming

We do not currently offer grooming services but we are hoping to change that this coming Spring of 2026!

We will provide full grooming services as well as offer Exit Baths at a discounted price for our Boarders

The View from our Porch

Our family lives on the property where there is almost always someone present

We are always here overnight and we have cameras to check on the pets at any time

Kevin!

Kevin is the neighborhood Peacock who lives on our property

If you have a handful of grapes or blueberries in your fridge, those are his favorite treats! You can bring it along to pick up or drop off your pet, and put them in his food bowl by the garage!

We will never leave our dogs with anyone else! Our 2 sweet Yorkies had never slept a night outside of our house in the 2+ years we have had them. We were going on a much-needed vacation and taking them was not an option. We had not been anywhere since we got them. We were SUPER nervous and anxious about leaving them anywhere. THANK GOD for Paws and Claws!!! Krystal and the rest of the team are INCREDIBLE!! The “get to know you” visit ahead of time, easy and respectful drop-off, pictures to show the good time they were having while we were gone, seamless pickup process, and so much more left us knowing we would never leave our babies anywhere else if they could not be with us. We have already recommended them to a few friends and will continue to do so. Thank you Paws and Claws for giving us peace of mind when our dogs could not be with us. We love Paws and Claws!!!!!

We went out of town and had to board our boxer. Years ago we boarded her and I won’t mention the kennel, but when we returned she was very sick and it took 6 weeks, with vet bills, to get her back on track. Since then we have always taken her with us on vacation. However, this short get away we did not.
I chose Paws and Claws this time to board her. For the “Meet and Greet” I got a full tour with Nala of the facility and a run down of their schedules. The owners even came out to meet me AND Nala. The staff was amazing as well. I got pictures and updates sent daily to my phone. Nala is very attached and not use to other dogs or people but she absolutely warmed up to everyone and we could tell she was content and happy. Their facility even made special accommodations for her. No extra fees for additional potty breaks or play time (she was let out I believe a total of 7x a day). No cages, a large warm kennel with privacy curtains, including a nice long outside run and a huge fenced in play yard. The prices were excellent but it was the people that sold me. Even with the pick up I was greeted again by staff and the owners. You can tell they adore animals and they truly care about your animal having a comfortable transition. Everyone knows how I am over our “special” little girl and I felt good knowing she was with good people.
After researching, I found that they exceeded all expectations over any other kennels in our locality. It’s comforting and convenient to have a business like this in Amherst County!

Stacey we appreciate the trust you placed with us in taking care of Nala. She was a very good girl. We all had fun playing with her and getting “big hugs” she is quite the character! We are here whenever Nala needs another vacation.

I have had the most amazing experience with Debbie and the team at Paws and Claws. Finding myself in a very difficult spot and needing boarding for my four cats at very short notice they were able to work with me and accommodate. My life was up in the air and I was desperate to do all I could to keep my fur family together during this difficult period.

To say the team there were guardian angels would be an understatement. They went above and beyond to take care of, help and support me and the cats during their stay, what they did to ensure that I was reunited with the cats… was priceless. They are all now with me in the UK, all together again, in no small part thanks to the love and kindness of this team. I am forever grateful!

Phil and Debbie are wonderful people and always baby my big, spoiled hound dog! They have a great set up for the dogs so that they have both personal space and outside space to run around and play. They keep cats as well. Your pets will be well cared for at Paws and Claws!

Our two dogs have stayed there twice now. They seem right at home in their surroundings. Love the access to the outdoor play area. Everyone who works there is caring and it shows when we drop off and pickup our happy pets.

The staff is both professional and truly caring about the pets entrusted to their care. You know you have found the right border when your fur baby is happy and excited to go.

All of us here at Paws and Claws really have fun dealing with the many animals that we take care of. We especially like seeing how the “regulars” remember what kennel they were in last time. We try, if possible, to have the same room available as the last visit. Cento is quite the character and we especially enjoy him
